Finally, the first week of school is over. Hahaha, I think I'm pretty much used being sec3 at RICS now and for some reason, now I feel like the holidays were a distant past.
I can't believe that I've been at school with Oliver for 5 days and the whole time he thought I was Korean! Gaaahhahahhahahha. Until today, that is, after he asked me where I was from -_-
Well that actually happens a lot. Oliver said that he thought I was Korean because of my name(he knew my name first before my face; refer to post day 1, 13th July http://dmvhello.blogspot.com/2009/07/1st-day.html, number 2), Su Kyi, but I actually did encounter situations where people think I'm Korean at first sight, not knowing my name yet and all.
When I was small I had really really small 'sipit' eyes and fair skin so people thought that I was Japanese. Then, after that at about 6 or 7 years of age, I had darker skin and people kept thinking I'm Korean, even until now.
This is an account of how I have been mistakened as a Korean since a very young age:
My house is really close(walking distance) to this Korean store called Mu Gung Hwa and I go there if I need something and it's an emergency(but it's really expensive so I don't go there a lot). When I was really small, I remember going there and seeing this really tall Korean lady. The lady was happy to see kids for some reason and she probably thought I was Korean so she started speaking Korean to my sister and I and for some reason she just took these candies of the supermarket shelves and gave it to us for free. That lady must have been the owner of the store or something. Hahhaha.
Another time when I was older, I went there and accidentally stepped on this lady's foot and she didn't really get mad but instead she just started speaking Korean and I didn't want to make her feel embarrassed so I just smiled.
More recently when I moved to Raffles last year, MinJi, my friend thought I was Korean. She only told me after this other Korean person asked her if i was 'a new Korean kid'. At that time she just responded by laughing, and then she translated what that guy asked her and explained how she also thought I was Korean at first.
I know that I don't actually look Korean to everyone. In fact it's a matter of opinion, and sometimes people say I that don't look oriental at all. I bet the people who thought I was Korean at first are just gonna laugh now when they think about it because now that they see me everyday they realize that in truth I don't look Korean, hahaha.
Of course name contributes to the factor too. CH said that sukyi is a pasaran and alay name in Korea. Hahhaha. Idk ah...
...but I do want to learn Korean if I have the chance.

Today school was supposed to end early, so it didn't disturb the schedule so much when school briefed us about the bombings and dismissed us.
Yes, 4 bombs went off today in Jakarta. One in JW Marriot, for the second time, one in The Ritz Carlton, and I don't know where the other ones went off.
Manchester United who was scheduled to play soccer here this month canceled on us because of this.
It is rumoured that there are 4 more bombs that haven't happened yet, let's just pray that no more bombs explode anywhere.
I recieved this message from friends. I don't know if it's true or not but they say that instead of 4, 40 more bombs are going to go off.
Sktr 40 bom blm meledak. Area yg harus dijauhi, kuningan, fx, gi, pi, sensi, pp, smua clubs, bars, cafes, hyatt hotel, international schools, dubes usa, ausi n uk,airport...org bali pun hrs mulai waspada..Menurut pengamat politik, ad kmgknan ini otak pelakuny bkn terrorist biasa, melainkan seorang cawapres yg sangat capable utk mengguncang indonesia, sperti thn 1998... Anda tahu siapa? Sebarkan
Wow everything is happening so fast. Life is like a dream. Things just come and go like that. Bomb scares like these make you remember what's really important in life and that we must treasure what we have now because we take so many of the little things we have for granted, and thats when you never know what you have till it's gone.
By the way, one article I read yesterday really reminded me of one thing many people deem unvaluble and really take for granted. What is this thing? Hahaha it's your smile. Your smile is such a precious thing...
Read about this girl in California who has half of her face paralyzed and can't smile.

Whoevers reading this post is probably really lazy to carry on reading such a long post, hahha, I'm going to just write a little bit more today, about school, and miscellaneous.
To make it less heavy to read, and less difficult to wirte and revise, I'm going to put my thoughts in numbers :P
I don't have that much to say about today though so there's no way the numbers will go further than 10 :)
1. We're on holiday on Monday!!! Yeahhhh. Hahahha, I really shouldn't be happy... many people are sad today, and regarding my bad mood yesterday(last post, 16th July), Yeah, that's gone now. I was clearly just paranoid, and in fact there was actually no reason at all for me to have been disturbed(actually there was a bit, but it's okay). In other words, I made a mountain out
of a moehill. Don't do this people, because if you make a mountain out of a moehill like I did, the one who ends up suffering is probably going to be you yourself.
2. School. Hmmm, I'm starting to enjoy sec3 more and more. It's great, seriously, but more and more people are dropping triple science by the day. At the end, after Ben leaves, it's just gonna be me and Harddi with Mr. Adinas. Wkwkkwkw. We had A.Math, Computer, Chinese, and Biology today. Like I said, we have less subjects today because school planned to release us early every Friday.
For Chinese we continued watching Shaolin Soccer, but we still couldn't finish it.
For Bio, We had to remember the characteristics of all the 5 kingdoms in the binomial system thingymajic. Miss Janet is actually a very effective teacher, but apparently, I don't read instructions properly so I ended up doing the activity wrong, hahha. I'm not going to drop biology. I think it's fun. Hahhahaa. It's just the first week and already alot of people want to drop it.
Have backbone people!! The Physics lessons haven't even started!! Hahah just kidding, do what you want, I have to wait for my brother after school anyways so might as well sit for a class right?
3. Our new schedule is out. we still have PE on Mondays, and it's a holiday on Monday right? That means no PE for 2 consecutive weeks. Hahahah. Now the missing physics classes appear on the schedule. I so have to catch up, I practically didn't have physics for the whole week, while the other class have. Our new schedule has so many double periods. Almost everything is doubled. I guess it's effective that way too. Eveytime we start a lesson people are late and it takes time for the attendance so it's easier to have two periods in one go right? Even if it's mental torture.
4. Pece visited school today. She brought me 5 packs of Bontea. Bontea is this green tea candy that tastes a little strange the first time but you eventually get used to it and after a while it even tastes really good, but not many people are used to it. It has lemon filling.
I'm definitely not going to eat ALL of it, anyways, I gave two of the packs away. I'm probably going to bring it to school on Tuesday to share with people. Sharing is caring :) hahhaha.
Okay hahha that's it. I'm practically drained now because I have nothing else to share. Totally nothing. If I was squeezing a lemon in this case, I've squeezed every last drop of lemon juice. Yeah I know, that's a weird way to explain it but yeah...
